Call for Open Access Publication Fee Support by KGELL COST Action
KGELL is pleased to announce the Call for Open Access Publication Fee Support. This call provides financial support to KGELL Action participants for the open access dissemination of high-quality, peer-reviewed research outputs related to COST Action CA24121 – Knowledge Graphs in the Era of Large Language Models (KGELL).
Open Access support may cover eligible publication fees, including Article Processing Charges, for publications developed by KGELL Action participants and published by a recognised top-tier journal.
Eligibility
Open Access Publication Fee Support can only be used for peer-reviewed publications that disseminate research outcomes related to KGELL objectives and activities. Only papers that are already accepted for publication or are currently under minor revision by the cut-off date are eligible. This condition ensures that the process can be completed in time for the COST budget to be used to cover the publication fee.
The publication should be co-authored by at least one active KGELL Action participant and should clearly contribute to the visibility and dissemination of the Action. The funds will not be provided before final acceptance of the publication. Supported publications must include the following acknowledgement:
“This publication is based upon work from COST Action CA24121 – Knowledge Graphs in the Era of Large Language Models (KGELL), supported by COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology, https://www.cost.eu).”
How to apply
Applicants should submit the following documents as a single PDF file:
- completed Open Access Publication Fee Support application form;
- complete draft or accepted version of the paper;
- proof of acceptance or evidence that the paper is under minor revision;
- information on the journal;
- confirmation of the expected Open Access publication fee.
Applicants are encouraged to inform the KGELL Grant Awarding Coordinator in advance if they intend to request Open Access support, as this may speed up the internal review process.
Evaluation and Reporting
Applications will be evaluated in terms of their relevance to KGELL objectives, contribution to the Action’s visibility, involvement of KGELL participants, and availability of budget. Please note that this evaluation is not a full scientific peer review. It concerns the compatibility of the publication with KGELL’s objectives and dissemination goals.
Successful applicants must send the final published version of the paper to KGELL after publication.
KGELL policy on submissions
For this call, each applicant may submit only one application per call round, choosing a single KGELL grant track. Multiple submissions across different tracks within the same round will lead to rejection in all tracks.
